HOW IS YOUR BRAIN DOING?

You are probably going to give the generic response – “it is doing amazingly well.”.

So, don’t answer the question just yet.

I remember reading one of J.K Rowling’s Harry Potter Series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone;  a boy who learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses unique magical powers of his own. I read the 223 paged book in about 31/2 hours.

I am the worst person to watch a horror movie with, which is why I prefer to read the books instead. This affords me the ability to create my own scenes and in most cases, act in them. I am a religious person, but I do not cast and bind devils/demons daily. why? Because Harry made Witchcraft look sexy. It didn’t look as dark as I was made to believe in Sunday school.

Your brain on books is active.

A Prospective date instantly became unattractive to me the moment he mentioned he doesn’t read. What are we going to talk about?

Roberto Bolaño says, “Reading is like thinking, like praying, like talking to a friend, like expressing your ideas, like listening to other people’s ideas, like listening to music, like looking at the view, like taking a walk on the beach.”

Our brains change and develop in some fascinating ways when we read. It is simply amazing.

When last did you read a book?

And, how is your brain doing?
